It wasn’t my intention to get stuck in West Marin, literally stuck. We were riding caboose\u00a0and doing route\u00a0marking clean-up for “Day on the Ride” for ALC2014. For the clean-up, our role was to stop and pick up all the posted signage and arrows. There was an arrow way to the right of the road posted on a “slippery road” sign, or is that a “curve ahead” sign. Anyway, I pulled off onto this grassy section so we’d be off the road and closer to the sign when THUNK! We sunk into mud.<\/p>\n

But really, it didn’t look like mud when I slowed down to pull over. I thought it was freshly mowed dried grass.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0rocked the 4-Runner back and forth but couldn’t get out. We were up to the truck’s running boards in mud.<\/p>\n

And it just so happened that a highway patrol officer AND a lot of fire trucks were in the vicinity to pull us out. Luck was definitely on our side.<\/p>\n
