ALC2014 | Day 1 | San Francisco to Santa Cruz<\/p>\n

No one ever sleeps the night before. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve done this ride, the anticipation of what lies ahead always keeps me awake the night before.<\/p>\n

This year brings anxiety of the unknown, not unlike my very first ride. I’m kept awake with questions about my Mom and whether or not she’ll be okay on the ride and what’ll happen if something happens and will she be okay. Will she have the energy to last each day.<\/p>\n

Each day I push hard to get to Rest Stop 3 almost as quickly as I can. Each day I want to get there to see for myself that she is holding her own. This Day 1 is no different from the rest. Pedal pedal pedal to get there.<\/p>\n
