ALC2015 | Day 2 | Santa Cruz to King City

109.2 miles

One day down, six to go.

The day starts with “breakfast” at Denny’s, followed by a mad dash to get to bike parking once we arrive back at camp.

The KEY to surviving Day 2 is to get out on the route as quickly as possible. First, it’s the longest day but second, it’s made even longer by all the traffic enforcement devices blocking our swift exit of Santa Cruz during Monday morning rush hour. It’s best to be out first and at the head of the pack.

Again my goal is to get to Rest Stop 3 as quickly as possible, unfortunately, this often means that I arrive at the rest stop before they are all in costume so I end up waiting around to see my Mom in costume, or I leave before she’s changed.

I’m looking forward to today’s theme as it was the one my Mom worked on so I had a hand in it and I’m anticipating it to be a BIG success with the riders.

Mud and sprinklers couldn’t keep me back as I rolled on.
