In the mid-nineties, my Dad painted his 100+ year old Connecticut farmhouse dark gray. I can only imagine what a stir that created amid his exclusive neighborhood. Clearly, my Dad was ahead of his time.
It seems almost overnight that there has been a proliferation of gray houses in San Francisco. I can’t walk more than a block in my own neighborhood of Bernal Heights without coming upon at least one dark gray house. Some blocks are even worthy of three!
